The Oasis Coffins enterprise has been set up in one of the most povertystricken areas of Bangladesh, in Nilphamari, 500km north of Dhaka. Not only does this bring paid employment to the region, but also an upward social mobility and education opportunities for families and children connected to this project. Seagrass is a natural freshwater plant which is grown in abundance in the Noakhali district of Bangladesh. It is sun dried, spun and woven onto a bamboo frame to form this unique oval shaped coffin.

Our 100% biodegradeable traditional shaped coffins come in a choice of styles: Golden Wicker and Grey Wicker. The Wicker is carefully woven onto a strong wooden Albasia frame, finished with bespoke wooden handles and hard carved wooden peg screws. Each coffin comes with an unbleached calico lining and an engraved wooden nameplate.

These coffins are made in Yorkshire using pure new wool, supported on a strong recycled cardboard frame. Wool is a fibre with a true "green" lineage that is both sustainable and biodegradeable.
